These are some of the beautiful students in P-1 and P2 during their PE class. So far, I’ve taught them the Hokey-Pokey, leap frog, and “Mr. Bear, are you sleeping?” So much fun!

This is me during one of our outreach visits with the mukaakas, the grannies. The Nyaka Grannies Project gave out more than 900 garden hoes to organized groups of grandmothers who can use the tool to grow gardens to feed their families and earn an income.

These are my P-5 students completing a letter-writing exercise.
The girls have short hair and wear purple. I love this photo.
Ali – this is absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to look at all your pictures and hear all your stories when you get back. Absolutley amazing experience. Can you send me an e-mail (jturro7@aol.com) so I can get your address? – Jackie
Hello,
I’m a designer at Viking (Penguin) and we are publishing a book about the Nyaka Aids Orphan school. Can you please email me as soon as you can, we are interested in using one of your photos for the cover (the one of the children running). Since I’m working on deadline, your immediate attention will be appreciated. I will fill you in on more details about the book. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jaya
